Hard to believe that we’re well into the month of January already, we’re back and very busy. We hope you are too. This year our focus is going to be on helping you grow your business. There are multiple parts to this, which we will be introducing periodically. This month we are focusing on getting you the best discounts possible. Depending on how much you use in the way of supplies each year you can qualify for additional discounts. Also if you just have a time purchase for an event or show, we can help reduce your costs. If you are in business to sell your work or ar printing other artists work, you almost certainly qualify. Please email me at karen@digitalartsupplies.net for more details.
DAS has started to introduce new papers for the budget minded artist. The first is this great fine art paper. Franklin Student Fine Art is as good as most of the finest papers in the world; with only one difference. When look at a sheet you may see slight variation in texture or color on a given sheet. This is because we requested that a final filtering process be eliminated to keep the cost down. Once printed it's not noticeable, given that fact along with it's extraordinary cost savings, we are targeting the new artist, the student or simply the budget minded artist. The paper is 100% cotton & archival. Initially it will only be available in cut sheets. Let me give you an example of the your everyday savings: Franklin Student Fine Art 8.5x11 – 50 sheets ($39.00), Hahnemuhle Photo Rag ($62.00), Moab Entrada 300 ($54.00). We will send free samples of printed Franklin so you can see for yourself.

Print Like a Pro is held about 4 times per year and teaches students the ABC’s of printing, printers, media, all the what fors’ and how tos’. We use three instructors each covering their area of specialization. Students bring an image and on the last day see how it all comes together.
The seminar is held at the Bay Club Hotel on Shelter Island in San Diego, if you stay at the hotel the cost is $1195 including three nights, breakfast & lunch all three days. Seminar only is $745. Dates are January 22-24. Contact shawn@digitalartsupplies.net to see if there is still room or call him toll free 877-534-4278.
Looking for a 17" or wider printer? If you haven’t checked out the Canon printers in comparison to the Epson’s you should. The biggest positive is having both photo black and matte back in the printer for a low cost auto switch!
Feel free to call us if you’d like more details.
Just a note on this subject; we here at DAS try very hard to insure that each package and order is handled quickly and correctly. Sometimes things do go awry, sometimes it’s our fault usually it is either a shipping carrier problem or a vendor problem where we drop shipped directly to the customer. Please understand that when you call in, there is only one customer service person that handles all customer questions. It does take time to figure out what went wrong since it usually wasn’t us. That means a phone call or email back to you; sometimes this takes more than 15 minutes, it could take all day until we get a return phone call from our supplier(s).
Customer service calls go directly to voicemail, since Maritza is working on other customer calls. If it is an issue that is absolutely critical, please leave the basic information in the voicemail or email you send. She will try to get in touch with you through email first, even if you called in, so please check that before calling back. Thanks for your help. Customer service email is cs@digitalartsupplies.net.

Schoellershammer Velvet is our product of the month for January. If you’ve been using Epson Velvet paper or even Epson Fine Art Smooth, you’ll find Schoellershammer a wonderful alternative. Schoellershammer is one of those old world German companies with a 300 year plus history in fine art paper making, DAS has been the exclusive distributor in the U.S. of Schoellershammer inkjet fine art paper for 3 years now & we’ve found it to be an easy paper to use on virtually all printers. Velvet comes in 2 weights, 225 gsm for the lighter weight users and 300 gsm for the Fine Art Professional users.
The paper is 100% cotton rag, acid free and comes in sizes from 4x6 to 35x47 cut sheets & rolls up to 44" wide. We have crested custom printing profiles for many of the Epson printers to insure perfect output every time. Use the following coupon code and receive 25% off for the rest of January.
The coupon code is 1200331663. If for whatever reason, the code doesn’t work be sure to add it to the comments section of your order.
We have 2 very slightly used demo units and are interested in selling them. If you are looking for a deal on either of these printers, please email me at karen@digitalartsupplies.net.
