EPSON STYLUS PRO 7900 & 9900
A few more details are emerging regarding the new 7900 & 9900 printers from Epson. To answer the overwhelming question of "will there be a 4900 or 3900?" - the answer is: likely not. The problem is that the printhead is the new printhead from the 11880 and it simply won't fit without a mechanical redesign of the 4880 & 3800.

Also we anticipate that these prints should be available for shipment to customers by mid-December. To answer the ultimate question as to whether you should buy these models for $1,000 more or the 7880/9880? If you need a "proofing printer", meaning that you need a wider color gamut than currently exists, then the answer may be yes. These printers are an extension of the Epson family to the proofing/packaging market and DO NOT replace the existing line. And yes - there will be a new set of inks so you can't swap ink cartridges either. Contact me at karen@digitalartsupplies.net if you need more info.

EPSON PRO PRINTER REBATES
Through the end of the year Epson is also offering the following Pro Printer Rebates:

Pro 4880 ($480)
Pro 7880 ($780)
and yes on the 9880 ($980).

The 3800 offers a $200 rebate through 12/24/08. This makes these printers really affordable with free shipping and setup instruction included. Contact andrew@digitalartsupplies.net if a new printer is on your Christmas list. If it's on your list but you're worried about the cash outlay we do have leasing plans available that are really reasonable. Ask him about that too.
